This award is given in to memory of Rishi Charak (175 B.C.), a pioneer proponent & founder of concept medicine through incessant untiring research illustrated in Charak Samhita.

It award is given to the institution or individual(s) for the commendable or exemplary work and the outstanding achievement and/or research in the field of medicine-cum-Community Service.

It carries cash award of Rs.10,000/- with memento and certificate of achievements.
